I have NEVER played golf before, and know that I really want to give it a shot mainly because my friends do it, it seems like a very relaxing sport (I have a lot of patience), and I am an officer in the military and know that one day an Admiral will invite me to play with him.

I was originally going to get a Prince Golf set from Costco, but people on here convinced me not to. I was told by some people to get this set from Sports Authority, a Top Flite XL 15 set:

My questions are these:
1) Is this a good set?
2) Is there anything else I should get along with this set? A standard wood, iron, putter, something of a higher quality to be my usual club?
3) Anything else to add to it all?

I need a full set of clubs; wedges, irons, woods, a putter, and a driver. I’m an average golfer for my age and usually par or bogey holes.
