If there was a “best” putter, then all the pro’s would be using it. Get something that you like and can afford. Then, go get the thing fit to YOU.

The most important thing you can do is to have your golf equipment fit to you. Your current putter is probably fine. However, it may need a little tweaking. That is, the lie angle might need adjusting or the length my be a little wrong for you. Putters are very easy to lengthen and/or shorten. Another thing to experiment with is the grip. Buy several different sizes of grips from the fat paddle grips down to little skinny grips. You will be amazed at the difference in feel and accuracy of each. Once you get all the variables (lie angle, length, grip size, and total weight) figured out, then it’s time to practice.

My favorite putter is the Seemore like the one Payne Stewart used to win the US Open before he died. Zach Johnson uses a similar putter except his is black and Payne’s is brass.

My next favorite is the old Ping Anser but it is a little too light for me. However, lead tape can fix that problem.

Whatever feels best, and gets the job done.

Try every putter you can get your hands on. Ask if you can use the on the putting green. Heavy putter’s for slow greens and light putters for fast greens. Stay away from the putter that take all day to line up. When you come across a putter that looks good and feels good. That is the one for you, it may be $19.95 or more. All putters feel different. So, make sure when you find the one you like, get that putter.
